Nicole Sears has been with the Sanitation Districts Agency for fourteen years, currently as an Environmental Specialist III in the Policy and Planning Department where she supports the Clean Water Act’s mandated Pretreatment Program. As a founding member of the first agency-wide sustainability program, the Going Green Employee Education Program, she has contributed to policy development and employee education efforts related to environmental issues. She leads efforts related to agency recycling and has implemented a program of food waste diversion for the Districts. She currently works on the project team responsible for bringing an Environmental Sustainability Action Plan into fruition for the agency. Nicole holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree from University of California at Davis in Wildlife, Fish, and Conservation Biology with degree emphasis in Environmental Toxicology and Disease Ecology.
