Katie Smet

Katie Smet is a Program Manager at Breathe California Sacramento Region, a local nonprofit committed to improving air quality and lung health in the Capital Region. She works on air quality improvement programs and currently leads the Food Waste Recycling Program in partnership with the Sacramento County Solid Waste Authority and school districts to implement organics recycling into elementary schools. Katie has gained local government and nonprofit experience on community-based projects and program development through serving in AmeriCorps on the Sacramento Promise Zone and as a CivicSpark Climate Fellow for the Sacramento Air Quality Management District. Katie as a B.A. in Urban Studies and Political Science with a concentration in sustainability from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities.
