Tom Gohring has been Executive Director of the Sacramento Water Forum since 2007. The Water Forum is a diverse group of business and agricultural leaders, citizens groups, environmentalists, water managers, and local governments in Sacramento, Placer, and El Dorado counties. This group of community leaders and water experts has agreed to a comprehensive suite of water management and ecosystem restoration actions that are dedicated to protecting the lower American River and providing reliable water supplies for the Sacramento Region.
Tom has spent three decades working on water resources and civil engineering projects, often specializing in collaborative solutions. Before joining the Water Forum, he led several interdisciplinary water management projects under the employ of local, state, and federal agencies and consulting firms. He has an M.S. in Engineering from U.C. Davis and a B.S. in Agricultural Engineering from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. He is a licensed Civil Engineer.
