Dan Krekelberg is a Climate and Energy Specialist at Ascent Environmental, where he leads the firm’s energy practice and provides project management and technical support for state and local sustainability planning. He specializes in the preparation and implementation of climate action and adaptation plans, GHG reduction measures, climate resilience strategies, and CEQA analyses. His experience also includes energy efficiency consulting for zero-net energy communities and planning for utility-scale renewable energy generation facilities. Dan has an M.S. in Urban Development specialized in climate change planning from Erasmus University Rotterdam and a B.A. in Government from Sacramento State. He is a LEED Green Associate, and an active member of Urban Land Institute Sacramento Chapter and the Building Decarbonization Coalition. Dan calls the City of Sacramento home and has resided in the Capitol Region since 1985.
