Bernie Creelman works in the Policy & Planning Department of the Sacramento Regional County Sanitation District (Regional San). During her career, she has worked as a Communications & Media Officer, providing internal and external communications as well as public outreach on highly impactful construction projects; revamped and managed the Sewer Lifeline Rate Assistant Program that assists low-income ratepayers; and worked in policy and contract development. As part of Policy & Planning, Bernie created and manages the Going Green Employee Program that encourages workplace green efforts while educating employees regarding environmental sustainability. She is currently helping develop a sustainability policy and plan for both districts. As well, Bernie is heading the creation of a robust K-thru-college education program based at a historic dairy, located on Regional San property. In her spare time, she works on her farm and teaches English Composition at Sacramento City College, utilizing the theme of environmental sustainability to ignite future leaders with her passion for environmental stewardship.
